"I had the privilege of recently participating in the 2025 Esri User Conference in San Diego, representing the International Association UNIGIS at both the Expo Exhibit and the Academic Fair. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with alumni, current students, and professionals interested in learning more about our international master's and specialization programs in GIS. The continuous visits from colleagues to our booth reflected a shared commitment to lifelong learning and the significant value that geospatial education continues to hold.
Additionally, a highly enriching space was the Education Summit @ Esri UC, where educators and professionals shared experiences on how to integrate spatial thinking into teaching and research. These sessions highlighted the importance of educating students who not only master technical tools but also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills relying on spatial analysis.
Among the most interesting topics of this edition was the prominent role of GeoAI and the integration of artificial intelligence capabilities into ArcGIS platforms and tools. From automatic extraction of elements in images to advanced predictive models, these innovations are transforming how we understand and address spatial challenges." |
